Transportation Program

When you're living in a shelter, you still need to get to important commitments like medical appointments, job interviews, court appearances, new jobs, meetings with probation officers, and family-related visits.  So BSN started the Transportation Program that enables clients to use Charlie cards or use other forms of public transportation in and around Boston.

People who are in programs at our partner shelters and who are recommended by their case managers or the shelter point person are eligible to receive the aid to use public transportation.

To receive assistance, contact:
  • Boston Rescue Mission
  • Bridge Over Troubled Waters
  • Home for Little Wanderers
  • New England Center and Home for Veterans
  • Rosie’s Place
  • Starlight Ministries
  • St. Francis House
  • Women's Lunch Place

To date, BSN has paid for over 300 rides for people living in shelters who need to keep important commitments while working hard to improve the quality of their lives!
