Compassionate Hands for Our Homeless and Poor

Words of Appreciation

On behalf of our shelter partners and the clients they serve, thank you for your generous donations!

Feedback from Our Shelter Partners on Behalf of their Clients

"With the advent of COVID-19, we had to pivot, and take care of our guests that are experiencing homelessness in a different way.  Because of the generous donations and supplies from Boston Share Network, we have been able to continue to supply needed T-shirts, socks, and toiletries, over the summer in a “Grab and Go” manner, at a time when other sources of clothes were not as available.  Even the “You are SomeBody” ID Program was available.  Where there is a need, Boston Share Network is there to help out with their support. We can’t thank you enough!"

"Rosie's Place is grateful for all the amazing work Boston Share Network does.  With the help of BSN, we work to ensure that the day a woman secures her permanent housing is filled with long-overdue joy instead of moving stress. BSN's Moving Assistance Program has helped many of our guests with their fresh starts and Rosie's Place is honored to share these important moments with such a great organization."

"Barbara and her 6 children were guests of Women’s Lunch Place, a day shelter for poor and homeless women. Barbara’s journey to securing housing, healing, and reunifying with her children, came with its fair share of heartbreak along the way.

In 2015 Barbara’s abusive partner, assaulted her and left her for dead, her young children found her and called 911.  At that moment, everything changed for Barbara when DCF became involved and removed her children from her custody.

Barbara would go through a difficult period, struggling with homelessness, years of addiction, and unhealthy relationships.  Then two years ago, she put in the work to address her past trauma and sought out counseling and treatment for her addiction, and in doing so, she worked on regaining custody of her 5 remaining children.

In August of 2021, Barbara was issued a Reunification Voucher from DCF.  In September, the courts also granted her full custody of her oldest 5 children, and November 2021 she moved into her 5 bedroom apartment with her 6 children.

There are so many ways that the Boston Share Network assisted Barbara and her family in the process of obtaining housing from obtaining birth certificates for all her children, a MA Driver’s License Voucher so she could work as a driver and the necessary moving assistance so she could obtain furniture for her and her children in her forever home. All these things allowed Barbara to thrive in her new home. For that we thank the Boston Share Network for their generosity and kindness with all our guest!"
